How many of you know MetroSouth Medical Center? They are a full-service medical facility located in Blue Island, approximately 16 miles south of downtown Chicago.  The hospital’s Cardiology Program is nationally recognized for its advanced cardiac care.

As a photographer, I get to see my subjects in a very different light. They trust me to show them in the best possible way. My strongest belief has always been – we are at our best when we are just ourselves. From that stand-point, the physicians, administrators, staff and the executives were just themselves doing what they are best at doing (providing the best care to their patients). I just captured those moments.

This particular shoot was for their Family Medicine department focusing on dads and children. I wanted to do something modern, unique and colorful. You will see many of my pictures on billboards and other street displays soon.

If you did not figure this out already, none of the physicians and patients shown here are hired actors. Many of the patients were requested to participate when they had shown up at the hospital for appointments. Having worked with children and physicians, I could totally see how easily the physicians connected with their baby/children patients.They are very down-to-earth and easy to talk to.

I notice things…and observed their emergency department constantly appearing empty. Then I found out that they have the shortest wait times in the South Chicago-land region. I saw it…I believe it. Metro South Medical Center rocks!! They are working so hard for the community and I am sure the community will continue to notice and appreciate their efforts.
